Dansbibliotek och dansarkiv i Göteborg
Koreografen Gun Lund har sedan 1950-talet samlat material kring danskonsten i Göteborg. För några år sedan etablerades biblioteket i lokalerna på dansscenen 3:e våning då ballerinan Elsa Marianne von Rosens samling av danslitteraur förvärvades och katalogiserades och nu finns tillgänglig för bl a forskning.
Samlingen omfattar drygt 900 volymer, från mitten av 1700-talet och framåt, en del av dem med personliga hälsningar från dansare och koreografer. Det är viktigt att samlingen hålls samman, helheten säger en del både om personerna bakom samlingen och om tiden. Flera donationer och inköp har utökat samlingen bl a från Ingvar Söderskog, (tidigare dansresencent på Göteborgs-Posten) och Gita Sellmann (grundare ov Internationella Dansrådet).
Vidare finns nu närmare 1000 dansfilmer från hela världen, unikt material som skickats av koreografer i hopp om att få framträda på Göteborgs Dans o Teaterfestival eller andra scener i Göteborg..
Till detta kommer Gun Lunds egna samlingar av danslitteratur, tidskrifter, tidningsurklipp om Göteborgs nutida dansliv från 1970-talet och framåt samt konstböcker av stor omfattning. Just nu pågår arbetet med att sammanställa och tillgängliggöra också hennes eget arkiv – anteckningar, skisser, tidningsurklipp, fotografier, programblad och affischer samt mer än 400 filmer från repetitioner och föreställningar, som nyligen digitaliserats.
Arkivarbetet leds idag av dansaren Åsa Thegerström. Andreas Persson bidrar bl a med digitalisering.
Främst kanske materialet är intressant för forskare, men vi vill att danspubliken som besöker 3:e våningen skall känna att biblioteket också är till för dem -
dansens historia måste bli mer känd.

Dance Library and Dance Archive in Gothenburg
Since the 1950´s, the choreographer Gun Lund has collected literature about dance in Gothenburg. A few years ago, Elsa Marianne von Rosen´s collection of dance literature was acquired and catalogued by 3:e Våningen. In connection with that, the Dance Library was established. Now the Gothenburg Dance Archive is available for reading and research.
The collection consists of approximately 900 volumes, from the mid 18th Century onwards. Some books contain personal greetings from dancers and choreographers. It is crucial that the collection is kept intact; the whole says a lot, about the people behind the collection and about temporality. Thanks to numerous donations and acquirements we have expanded the collection, from among others Ingvar Söderskog (former dance critic at Göteborgsposten) and Gita Sellmann (founder of the International Dance council).
There are currently around 1000 dance films from all over the world; unique material that choreographers have sent to Göteborgs Dans och Teaterfestival and other stages in Gothenburg.
In addition, we have Gun Lund´s own collections of dance literature, magazines and newspaper clippings concerning the free dance scene in Gothenburg from the 1970´s onwards, as well as a large collection of art books. Currently, the work of compiling and making the choreographer´s own archive available is in progress. Notes, sketches, newspaper clippings, photographs and programs have recently been made digital.
The dancer Åsa Thegerström is in charge of the archive process. Andreas Persson is contributing with digitalization.
Even though the archived material might be of most interest to researchers, we would like the general public to feel at home in the library – the history of dance must be passed on.
